{"id":252,"date":"2009-12-16T17:31:00","date_gmt":"2009-12-16T22:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/2d823b65bb.nxcli.io\/2009\/12\/planned-migration-of-an-antic-disposition.html"},"modified":"2010-01-07T18:48:39","modified_gmt":"2010-01-07T23:48:39","slug":"planned-migration-of-antic-disposition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.robweir.com\/blog\/2009\/12\/planned-migration-of-antic-disposition.html","title":{"rendered":"Planned Migration of An Antic Disposition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sometime over the next two weeks I&#8217;ll be migrating <cite>An Antic Disposition<\/cite> over to WordPress, introducing a new visual theme, and relocating to a new hosting company.\u00a0 This will allow some additional capabilities that I look forward to enabling down the road.<\/p>\n<p>My plan is to preserve all of the comments during the migration, not to break any incoming links, and to minimize any downtime.\u00a0 That is the plan.\u00a0 But minimal downtime is not the same as zero downtime, so don&#8217;t be surprised if you see me not here, at least occasionally.<\/p>\n<p>One last thing to check, dear reader, especially if you follow me via my feed.\u00a0 Around a year ago I wrapped my feed via FeedBurner.\u00a0 If you have subscribed since then, you should be fine, since that FeedBurner URL will continue to work.\u00a0 However, if you still subscribe to my old original Blogger feed (http:\/\/www.blogger.com\/feeds\/11236681\/posts\/full) then you will need to resubscribe with the new URL:<\/p>\n<p>The main feed is:  \ufeff\ufeff<a href=\"\ufeff\ufeffhttp:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/robweir\/antic-atom\">http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/robweir\/antic-atom<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>12\/28\/09 Update<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve completed the migration from Blogger to WordPress.\u00a0 It went easier than anticipated.\u00a0 The posts and comments came over without problems.\u00a0 I think I was able to preserve almost all of the post permalinks.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll monitor the logs for 404 errors and add 303 redirects to fix any remaining URL mismatches.\u00a0 However, I have not made any attempt to preserve the URLs for the archive or tag pages.\u00a0 For the various legacy feeds, I&#8217;ve redirected all of them to the FeedBurner feed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sometime over the next two weeks I&#8217;ll be migrating An Antic Disposition over to WordPress, introducing a new visual theme, and relocating to a new hosting company.\u00a0 This will allow some additional capabilities that I look forward to enabling down the road.
