I am Rob Weir. \u00a0 I grew up in Saugerties, New York.\u00a0 I’ve also lived in Cambridge, \u00a0Somerville and Westford Massachusetts.\u00a0 I currently live in Dover, New Hampshire. \u00a0 I am a 1991 graduate of Harvard College, with a degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics.<\/p>\n

\"rob\"<\/a>For most of my career I worked as a software engineer, at IBM.\u00a0 My association with that company ended in 2018<\/a>, after 27 years of service. I am currently exploring my several options, of which early semi-retirement looks the most attractive.<\/p>\n

I also collect hobbies.\u00a0\u00a0 I am a member of the American Philatelic Society<\/a>, the United States Chess Federation<\/a>, the New England Historic Genealogical Society<\/a> and I am a trained SkyWarn<\/a> weather spotter. I play trombone and ukulele rather poorly, and recorder rather well. Whether or nor I sing is an unresolved question, greatly in dispute.\u00a0\u00a0 My photography<\/a> has been published in several magazines, and recently was shown in\u00a0a curated gallery exhibit.<\/p>\n

This is my personal blog. The postings on this site are my own and don’t necessarily represent the positions, strategies or opinions of any of the organizations I am or have been associated with.<\/p>\n
