Col. Thomas Vinson (1756-1841) of Weymouth wrote an account of his father's and mother's family in which he said:

"My grandfather on my mother's side was John Colson. He was born in the Island of Bermuda in the West Indies in the year 1681. About ye year 1700 he came and settled in Weymouth near the Abington line. About 1705 he was married to Susannah Lincoln, daughter of Thomas Lincoln of Hingham. Their children were five sons and six daughters, viz. John, Thomas, Ebenezer, Brackley, Josiah, and Susannah, Mary, Elizabeth, Anna and Sarah, the first. She died aged two. Sarah, the second, my mother, was their youngest child. John Colson, the oldest, married a Pettengill and had three children, viz. John, Christopher and Deborah. He enlisted as a solider in the Indian War and was killed about sunrise on a Sunday morning, being a Sentinel on the walls of the Fort at Old York in Maine. He was shot by a skulking Indian, the ball passing through his neck and cutting the life vein. He lived about two hours.² " He was born circa 1681 at Bermuda, West Indies.³ He was the son of Mary (?).¹ John Colson immigrated circa 1700 to Weymouth, Massachusetts.¹ He married Susannah Lincoln, daughter of Thomas Lincoln and Sarah Lewis, on 29 May 1706 at Hingham, Plymouth, Massachusetts.¹ John Colson lived on 1 February 1711/12 at Mutton Lane, Weymouth, Massachusetts.¹ He left a will on 3 May 1749.¹ He died on 4 July 1752 at Weymouth, Massachusetts.¹ He was buried after 4 July 1752 at Pond Plain Cemetery, South Weymouth; "Here lies buried Mr. John Colson who died July 4th, 1752 in ye 71st year of his age."¹

     Her married name was Colson. Susannah Lincoln was born on 19 September 1688 at Hingham, Plymouth, Massachusetts.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Lincoln and Sarah Lewis. Susannah Lincoln married John Colson, son of Mary (?), on 29 May 1706 at Hingham, Plymouth, Massachusetts.¹ Susannah Lincoln died in 1732 at Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts.

     Richard Lincoln was born circa 1550 at Swanton Morley, Norfolk, England. He was the son of Robert Lincoln. Richard Lincoln died in December 1620 at Swanton Morley, Norfolk, England.

     Edward Lincoln was born circa 1580 at England. He was the son of Richard Lincoln.

     Samuel Lincoln was born on 24 August 1619 at Hingham, Norfolk, England. He was the son of Edward Lincoln. Samuel Lincoln died on 26 May 1690 at Hingham, Plymouth, Massachusetts, at age 70.

     Mordecai Lincoln was born on 14 January 1656/57 at Hingham, Plymouth, Massachusetts. He was the son of Samuel Lincoln. Mordecai Lincoln died on 28 November 1727 at Scituate, Plymouth, Massachusetts, at age 70.

     Mordecai Lincoln was born on 24 April 1686 at Hingham, Norfolk, Massachusetts. He was the son of Mordecai Lincoln. Mordecai Lincoln died on 12 May 1736 at Amity, Berks, PA, at age 50.

     John Lincoln was born on 3 May 1716 at Rockingham, Virginia. He was the son of Mordecai Lincoln. John Lincoln died in November 1788 at Freehold, New Jersey, at age 72.

     Thomas Lincoln was born on 23 October 1761 at Amity, Berks, Pennsylvania. He was the son of John Lincoln. Thomas Lincoln died in 1819 at Sinking Spring Farm, Lexington, Kentucky.

     Abraham Lincoln was born on 12 February 1809 at Sinking Spring Farm, Hardin, Kentucky. He was the son of Thomas Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln died on 15 April 1865 at Peterson House, 516 10th St., N.W., Washington, DC, at age 56.

     Zachary Bicknell was born circa 1590. He married Agnes Lovell? circa 1623 at Weymouth, England.¹ Zachary Bicknell died circa 1636.

     Her married name was Bicknell. Agnes Lovell? was born circa 1598. She married Zachary Bicknell circa 1623 at Weymouth, England.¹ Agnes Lovell? died in 1643.

     John Baxter IV is the son of John Baxter III and Huldah Hayward. John Baxter IV married Mehitable Willard, daughter of Daniel Willard and Mary Mills.

     Mehitable Willard married John Baxter IV, son of John Baxter III and Huldah Hayward. Her married name was Baxter. Mehitable Willard was born on 12 January 1706. She was the daughter of Daniel Willard and Mary Mills.

     John Baxter III married Huldah Hayward in 1692/93 at Braintree, Norfolk, Massachuseets.¹ John Baxter III was born in 1698 at Quincy, Massachusetts. He was the son of John Baxter Junior and Hannah White.
