     Agnes Witherspoon was born circa 1812 at Dalserf, Lanark, Scotland.1 She was the daughter of Archibald Witherspoon and Margaret Hamilton. Agnes Witherspoon married William Lightbody, son of Thomas Lightbody and Agnes Yates, on 28 September 1834 at Dalserf, Lanark, Scotland; Marriage record on order.1 Marriage banns for Agnes Witherspoon and William Lightbody were published on 12 October 1834 at Hamilton, Lanark, Scotland; "Proclaimed William Lightbody in this Parish, and Agnes Witherspoon in the Parish of Dalserf for two days on the 12th and 19th October 1834."2 As of 12 October 1834,her married name was Lightbody. Agnes Witherspoon and William Lightbody appeared on the census of 6 June 1841 at Jollyfield, Carluke, Lanark, Scotland. Agnes Witherspoon and William Lightbody appeared on the census of 1861 at Carluke, Lanark, Scotland. Agnes Witherspoon died on 14 July 1864 at Kilncadzow, Carluke, Lanark, Scotland.1
