Lieut. Ziba Chessman was born circa September 1784 at Braintree, Norfolk, Massachusetts. He was the son of Ziba Chessman and Mehitable Belchor. Lieut. Ziba Chessman married Mary Thayer in December 1802.1 Lieut. Ziba Chessman lived in 1818 at Braintree, Norfolk, Massachusetts.1 He married Deborah White Blanchard, daughter of John Blanchard and Lois Pratt, on 17 May 1818 at Weymouth, Massachusetts.1 Lieut. Ziba Chessman died on 9 February 1858 at Weymouth, Massachusetts; cause of death is listed as "gravel", which according to the Oxford English Dictionary was the popular term for urinary crystals at that time.2 He was buried on 10 February 1858 at Pond. St., South Weymouth, Massachusetts.3
