William Wales Cushing was born on 19 February 1806 at Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of John Cushing and Polly Wales. William Wales Cushing married Ann P. Porter, daughter of Isaac Porter and Susanna (?), on 3 October 1827.1 William Wales Cushing and Ann P. Porter appeared on the census of 1840 at Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts. And this is something of a mystery. After living with Ann P and family for 30 years in Abington, William Wales shows up in Chelsea in 1850, running a boarding house with 10 borders. He returns to Abington by 1860. William Wales Cushing and Ann P. Porter appeared on the census of 1850 at Chelsea, Suffolk, Massachusetts. William Wales Cushing and Ann P.
