     Mary Whitmarsh was born on 21 May 1734. She was the daughter of Thomas Whitmarsh and Sarah Tory.

     John Whitmarsh was born on 21 June 1741. He was the son of Thomas Whitmarsh and Sarah Tory.

     John Whitmarsh , Jr John Whitmarsh was baptized on March 3, 1624 in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England. He was the son of John Whitmarsh and his wife, Alice, and came over from England with the Hull Company in1635. He was a Housewright and served in King Philip's War, in Captain Torrey's Company, in 1675. John married Sarah Harding, the daughter of John Harding, about 1654. He owned much property in Weymouth, Massachusetts as well as elsewhere. All of the above children were born in Weymouth. He was Housewright. He was born circa 1624 at England. He was the son of John Whitmarsh and Alice Garment. John Whitmarsh , Jr married Sarah Harding, daughter of John Harding, circa 1654 at Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts.¹ John Whitmarsh , Jr died in 1709 at Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts.

John Whitmarsh immigrated on 20 March 1634/35 to Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts; John Whitmarsh came to American in 1635, at age 39. In his party were his wife Alice, age 35, and children John Jr. (11), Jane (7), Joseph (5) and Richard (2).^1,2 He died circa 1644 at Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts.¹

     Rev. Joseph Emerson was born on 25 June 1620 at Bishops, Staffodshire, Hertfordshire, England. He was the son of Thomas Emerson. Rev. Joseph Emerson married Elizabeth Woodmansey. Rev. Joseph Emerson died on 3 January 1679/80 at Concord, Middlesex, Massachusetts, at age 59.

     Edward Emerson was born on 26 April 1670 at Mendon, Massachusetts. He was the son of Rev. Joseph Emerson and Elizabeth Woodmansey. Edward Emerson married Rebecca Waldo. Edward Emerson died on 9 May 1743 at Malden, Middlesex, Massachusetts, at age 73.

     Rebecca Waldo was born on 28 January 1661/62 at Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts. She married Edward Emerson, son of Rev. Joseph Emerson and Elizabeth Woodmansey. Rebecca Waldo died on 23 April 1752 at Malden, Middlesex, Massachusetts, at age 90.

     Joseph Emerson was born on 20 April 1700. He was the son of Edward Emerson and Rebecca Waldo.

     William Emerson was born on 31 May 1743. He was the son of Joseph Emerson.

     William Emerson was born on 6 May 1769. He was the son of William Emerson. William Emerson married Ruth Haskins.

     Ralph Waldo Emerson was born on 25 May 1803. He was the son of William Emerson and Ruth Haskins.

     Ruth Haskins was born on 9 November 1768 at Boston, Massachusetts. She married William Emerson, son of William Emerson. Ruth Haskins died on 16 November 1853 at Concord, Massachusetts, at age 85.

     John Gilman was a Lawyer.¹ He married Elizabeth Treworgye. John Gilman was born in 1624 at Hingham, Norfolk, England. He was the son of Edward Gilman and Mary Clarke. John Gilman JOHN GILMAN was born in Hingham, England, and was the son of Edward Gilman, who came here from Hingham, in England, in 1638. This family afterwards settled in Exeter. John Gilman probably went to Exeter before 1650, as the earliest mention of his name noticed upon the town records there is an order 'by the freemen and some others chosen for ordering the affairs of the town,' dated June 19, 1650, signed by him and five others. Nov. 9, 1652, he was again chosen one of the selectmen, and in October, 1653, one of a committee 'to carry on the meeting-house.' He was elected 'townsman ' for many years between 1654 and 1678, and probably afterwards. He was commissioner for small causes in 1665, 1666, and 1668. He held many other offices, and was evidently one of the prominent citizens of the place, often chosen or appointed to positions of trust. In 1678 and 1679 he was elected one of the associate judges of the County Court of the old County of Norfolk. He was named, in President Cutt's? Commission in 1679, one of the Council of the Province, and also in Gov. Cranfield's Commission in 1682, and was appointed one of the justices of the Court of Pleas. In 1683, being obnoxious to Gov. Cranfield, he was removed from the Council. Upon the establishment of the new Provincial government in ---- unreadable line ----- the Assembly, and was speaker of the House, and in 1697 he was again a delegate. He died July 24, 1708. He died on 24 July 1708 at Massachusetts.
