William F. Hahn was born in 1923 at Wisconsin. He was the son of Alonzo George Hahn. William F. Hahn appeared on the census of 1930 in the household of Alonzo George Hahn at Antioch, Lake, Illinois.1 William F. Hahn began military service on 14 October 1942 at Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Army Air Corps. He died before 21 June 1943. From Fennimore Times Jul 21st 1943

Mr. and Mrs Alonzo Hahn received a message Sunday from the adjutant general at Washington stating that their only son S/Sgt Will Hahn had been missing since June 21st somewhere between North America and the European area.

He left New York in a bombing plane about June 20 for a card to his folks informed them he was leaving on a foreign mission. This was the only information from him since he was home on a furlough the latter part of May.

Will, age 20, was a gunner on a Flying Fortress and since his induction into the service in October has been training in Montana, Washington, and at Kearney, Neb., from whence he came home. He is a graduate of the Fennimore high school and for a while was employed in the Norman Nelson Standard oil station.

In view of the fact that nothing definite has been heard from him, the belief persists in the minds of his folks and his many friends that Will may yet turn up somewhere. Let's hope so, at least.
