     Joseph Matthews was born circa 1808 at Salem, Massachusetts.² He was the son of John Lemon Matthews and Elizabeth Hardy. Joseph Matthews and Jane Chubbuck obtained a marriage license on 4 April 1830 at Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts.³ Joseph Matthews was Shoemaker in 1850. He appeared on the census of 1850 at Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts; In 1850 census, a Nancy Chubbuck, age 75, is living with them. Possibly Jane's mother?⁴ He was a cordwainer in 1860.⁴ He appeared on the census of 1860 at North Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts.⁴ He appeared on the census of 1880 at West Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts.² He died on 29 July 1880 at Abington, Pymouth, Massachusetts; died of cholera morbus.⁵

     Anna Alcock was baptized on 26 May 1650.¹ She was the daughter of Dr. John Alcock and Sarah Palsgrave. Anna Alcock died between 12 December 1718 and 27 June 1723.²

     Sarah Alcock was baptized on 26 May 1650.¹ She was the daughter of Dr. John Alcock and Sarah Palsgrave. Sarah Alcock died on 5 November 1726 at age 76.¹

     Jane Chubbuck was born on 18 December 1806 at Massachusetts.^3,4 She was the daughter of Eleazer Chubbuck and Nancy Orcutt.² Jane Chubbuck and Joseph Matthews obtained a marriage license on 4 April 1830 at Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts.² Her married name was Matthews. Jane Chubbuck appeared on the census of 1850 in the household of Joseph Matthews at Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts; In 1850 census, a Nancy Chubbuck, age 75, is living with them. Possibly Jane's mother?⁵ Jane Chubbuck appeared on the census of 1860 in the household of Joseph Matthews at North Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts.⁵ Jane Chubbuck appeared on the census of 1880 in the household of Joseph Matthews at West Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts.³ Jane Chubbuck died on 16 September 1883 at Hannover, Plymouth, Massachusetts, at age 76; consumption.⁶

     Mary Alcock was born before 15 August 1652. She was the daughter of Dr. John Alcock and Sarah Palsgrave.

     Lucy Damon was born on 29 July 1813. She was the daughter of Joseph Damon and Lucy Tower.

     Elizabeth Alcock was born before 27 March 1659. She was the daughter of Dr. John Alcock and Sarah Palsgrave.

     Her married name was Wilder. Sarah Garnet was born on 22 October 1730 at Hingham, Plymouth, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Robert Garnet and Sarah Dunbar. Sarah Garnet married Thomas Wilder , Jr., son of Thomas Wilder and Anna Eels, on 11 January 1749/50. Sarah Garnet died in 1782 at Hingham, Plymouth, Massachusetts.

     George Alcock was born between 1604 and 1610.¹ He was graduated in 1622 at Cambridge, England; St. John's College.² He married Anne Hooker before 1626.¹ George Alcock immigrated in 1630.¹ He was a Butcher.³ He Admitted to Roxbury church as member #51, having earlier been a member of Dorchester church: 'Mr. George Alcock, he came with the first company Anno 1630. He left his only son in England, his wife died soon after he came to this land, when the people of Rocksbrough joined to the church at Dorchester (until such time as God should give them opportunity to be a church among themselves) he was by the church chosen to be a deacon especially to regard the brethren at Rocksbrough. And after he adjoined himself to this church at Rocksbrough, he was ordained a deacon of this church. He made two voyages to England upon just calling thereunto, wherein he had much experience of God's preservation & blessing. He brought over his son John Alcock. He also brought over a wife by whom he had his 2d son Samuel born in the year. He lived in a good and godly sort, & died in the end of the 10th month anno 1640 & left a good savor behind him, the poor of the church much bewailing his loss' Roxbury Land and Church Records, Sixth Report of the Boston Record Commissioners (Boston 1884), pp. 74-191.² He was freeman on 18 May 1631.⁴ He left a will on 22 November 1640 at Suffolk, Massachusetts; In his will, dated "22 day 11th [month], called December [sic]" 1640, and proved "(28) 11:1640," George Alcock of Roxbury bequeathed to son John debt of 40 pounds; to wife 100 pounds; to "brother Thomas Alcocke of Dedham all that he owes me" along with some cattle; to the two children of Thomas 2 pounds each; to Elizabeth Blandfield 2 pounds and "she shall be put forth where she may be well educated"; to servant Joseph Wise a heifer and the rest of his time from after midsummer next; to servant John Plimton his time from after midsummer for 5 pounds; house and lands to be improved for the education of his children, half for son John and half for son Samuel, "for seven years, beginning from the first day of the 11th month, called January, about which time expired, my son John will be 21 years of age"; brethren Philip Eliot and William Park to be executors; brother Mr. Hooker, Mr. Weld, Mr. Eliot and Isaac Heath to be overseers [SPR 1:7 (original lost)]. The inventory was taken on 30 December 1640, without a total being given; no real estate was included [SPR NS 2:3, Case #21].² He died in December 1640 at Roxbury, Massachusetts.¹ He was buried on 30 December 1640 at Roxbury, Massachusetts.²

     Israel Silvester was born circa 1646 at Scituate, Plymouth, Massachusetts.² He was the son of Richard Silvester and Naomi (?). Israel Silvester married Martha Bryant? before 1674 at Scituate, Massachusetts.³ Israel Silvester was buried at South Parish Cemetery, Norwell, Massachusetts.⁴ He died on 15 March 1727.⁴

     Anne Hooker married George Alcock before 1626.¹

     Her married name was Silvester. Martha Bryant? was born on 26 February 1659/60 at Scituate, Plymouth, Massachusetts. She married Israel Silvester, son of Richard Silvester and Naomi (?), before 1674 at Scituate, Massachusetts.¹ Martha Bryant? died after 19 April 1726 at Scituate, Plymouth, Massachusetts.

     Anne (?) married Dr. Richard Palgrave, son of Edward Palgrave, circa 1618.¹

     William Wales was born on 3 February 1723/24 at Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts. He was the son of Joseph Wales and Hannah Allen. William Wales married Lydia Sprague, daughter of William Sprague , III and Silence Tower, on 11 January 1753 at Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts. William Wales died on 6 August 1776 at age 52.

     Dr. Richard Palgrave was born circa 1593.² He was the son of Edward Palgrave.¹ Dr. Richard Palgrave married Anne (?) circa 1618.² Dr. Richard Palgrave immigrated in 1630.² He was freeman on 18 May 1631 at Boston.² He died between 8 June 1651 and 8 August 1651.²

     Her married name was Wales. Lydia Sprague was born in 1722 at Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of William Sprague , III and Silence Tower. Lydia Sprague married William Wales, son of Joseph Wales and Hannah Allen, on 11 January 1753 at Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Lydia Sprague died on 15 February 1805.

     Mary Pratt married Elisha Vining on 29 May 1780 at Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts.¹

     Joseph Wales was born on 29 April 1697 at Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts.¹ He was the son of Elder Nathaniel Wales III and Joanna Faxon. Joseph Wales married Hannah Allen, daughter of Lt. Samuel Allen and Abigail Webb, on 7 May 1723 at Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Joseph Wales died on 18 July 1767 at Randolf, Massachusetts, at age 70.

     Elisha Vining My speculation that this Elisha is the father of Mehitable. This is based on her naming of her son 'Elisha Vining Orcutt'. However, there may be a generation in between, so perhaps Elisha is the grandfather. He was born in 1714 at Weymouth, Massachusetts. He married Mary Pratt on 29 May 1780 at Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts.¹

     Her married name was Wales. Hannah Allen was born on 25 September 1704 at Randolf, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Lt. Samuel Allen and Abigail Webb. Hannah Allen married Joseph Wales, son of Elder Nathaniel Wales III and Joanna Faxon, on 7 May 1723 at Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Hannah Allen died on 17 April 1777 at Randolf, Massachusetts, at age 72.

     Her married name was Bayley. Ruth Porter was born on 3 October 1639 at Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Richard Porter. Ruth Porter married Thomas Bayley, son of Thomas Bailey , Sr., on 19 September 1660 at Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts.²

     Elder Nathaniel Wales III was born in 1649 at Dorchester, Massachusetts. He was the son of Nathaniel Wales Jr and Elizabeth Isabel Atherton?. Elder Nathaniel Wales III married Elizabeth Billings before 1675 at Dorchester, Massachusetts.¹ Elder Nathaniel Wales III married Joanna Faxon, daughter of Thomas Faxon and Deborah Thayer, before 1679 at Braintree, Massachusetts.¹ Elder Nathaniel Wales III died on 23 March 1717/18 at Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts.

     Thomas Bayley was the son of Thomas Bailey , Sr.. Thomas Bayley was freeman in 1640 at Weymouth, Massachusetts. He married Ruth Porter, daughter of Richard Porter, on 19 September 1660 at Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts.² Thomas Bayley died in 1690.³

     Her married name was Wales. Joanna Faxon was born in 1664 at Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Thomas Faxon and Deborah Thayer. Joanna Faxon married Elder Nathaniel Wales III, son of Nathaniel Wales Jr and Elizabeth Isabel Atherton?, before 1679 at Braintree, Massachusetts.¹ Joanna Faxon died in 1744.

     Nathaniel Wales Jr was born on 18 April 1623 at Calverly, Idle, York, England. He was the son of Nathaniel Wales Sr and Susanna Greenaway. Nathaniel Wales Jr married Elizabeth Isabel Atherton?, daughter of Major General Humphrey Atherton, before 1649 at Boston/Dorchester.¹ Nathaniel Wales Jr died on 20 May 1662 at Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, at age 39; killed in King Philip's War.²

     Thomas Bailey , Sr. died between 23 May 1681 and 11 October 1681 at Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts.¹

     Elizabeth Isabel Atherton? was born on 23 January 1630 at Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Major General Humphrey Atherton. As of before 1649,her married name was Wales.¹ Elizabeth Isabel Atherton? married Nathaniel Wales Jr, son of Nathaniel Wales Sr and Susanna Greenaway, before 1649 at Boston/Dorchester.¹ Elizabeth Isabel Atherton? died on 18 December 1661 at age 31.
