Daniel McKinlay was born circa 1811 at Dumbarton, Scotland. He married Elizabeth Cameron, daughter of David Cameron and Margaret McFarlane, circa 1837; A marriage bann in Eastwood, Lanakrshire reads:
"July 29 (1836) Daniel Macnally Carter and Elizabeth Cameron both in Polkokshawms were registered for proclamations to marriage for three days".
But how could they get Macnally confused for McKinlay?
Daniel McKinlay and Elizabeth Cameron appeared on the census of 1841 at Mitchel Street, Bonhill, Dumbarton, Scotland. Daniel McKinlay died before 25 February 1877.
