Joseph Hudek was born in 1844 at Bohemia; 1870 Census declared age 28.1 He was the son of Anton Hudek and Anna (?).1 Joseph Hudek immigrated in 1867; "What I know is that my great grandfather Joseph Hudek (Anton's oldest son) came to America on his own and worked for awhile and then sent for the rest of the family. They settled in Highland, Wisconsin. Then three of the children Joseph, Anthony, and Anna moved to Pocahontas, Iowa to farm. That is where I am from. We believe they came from a village called
Krakovcice in Bohemia. I'm not sure about the spelling on that. They are said to have come from House 1."2 He appeared on the census of 1870 in the household of Anton Hudek and Anna (?) at Highland, Iowa, Wisconsin.1 Joseph Hudek married Helena Wilhelm on 28 January 1878 at Iowa, Wisconsin. Joseph Hudek and Helena Wilhelm appeared on the census of 1880 at Sherman, Pocahontas, Iowa. Joseph Hudek married Annie Wosel on 9 January 1889 at Guthrie, Iowa. Joseph Hudek appeared on the census of 1920 at Center, Pocohantas, Iowa.3 He died in 1927.
